A quick discussion on our fee structure for Auctions.

When I acquired this site a few months ago it was with the intent to provide a place where sellers would be able to do business without all of the Draconian restrictions that Ebay has adopted. When they raised final value fees to nearly 10% that was the final straw. That was a clear indicator to me that they didn't care about their sellers, only the value of the stock being traded on the NYSE.

That said....We still need to generate revenue for this site to function as an alternative to Ebay. With that in mind this is how we are structuring our fees.

Listing an item is FREE.....Pictures are FREE, and you may have up to five (5) pictures on any one listing.

We will allow you to accept ANY method of payment you so choose. Paypal can be used here, but unlike Ebay we understand that some people would prefer to accept money orders and checks, or perhaps even cash if the buyer is so bold. We also recognize that some buyers are unwilling to trust electronic payment methods.

Now the bad news....What does cost money....Final value fees will be assessed at 2.5% (That's right just 2.5% compared to Ebay's 8% plus). Also....as an added incentive to those of you who have some expensive items....Any completed transaction for over $1000 will only be subject to the fee on the first $1000. So if your item sells for $10,000 or $100,000, the final value fee is still just $25.00. Sound like a good deal?

We will also assess a fee for Homepage and Category featured items. These are random placements so please understand that your item may not appear EVERY time you look at the home page or category, especially as we get more listings. Those fees are set a $1.00 for the Homepage, and $0.25 for the Category featured.

Please be cognizant of what we are trying to do. We are insignificant compared to Ebay and it will be your participation and willingness to bring your customers to us that will help create a viable and much less expensive arena to sell your collectibles.

Ebay can be WalMart, we just want to be your online collectibles marketplace.

We might never be as flashy, but we can do a better job of looking after the needs of our buyers and sellers.
